Are you one of those people wanting to change their lifestyle into a healthy one?
Congratulations with this decision! You won’t get disappointed.
One advice from my part: don’t change your whole lifestyle at once. Normally when people decide to start living healthy, they make a huge cutback in calorie intake.
Meal Plan
Going from your habitual unhealthy pattern to cutting out the unhealthy food is one thing.
Going from unhealthy to perfectly healthy is another – we are talking about a big adjustment here. Your mind is not the only one being used to all that sugar and bad nutrition. Your body also! Taking smaller steps is recommended.
Yes, you have to work to (almost) perfectly healthy. But your body and you will be able to stick to your new lifestyle better if you adjust your meal plan every week – for example – to eat more healthy products.
Exercise
The other thing people are convinced of, is that you really have to do sports to get healthy. This means you will cut back big time in calories, but also force yourself to go to the gym at least 3 times a week. Preferably for more than an hour, because only then it made sense to go – right?
Don’t take me wrong. Exercise IS important, just like eating healthier is. You should definitely not quit exercising if you were already doing so.
But please, do try to understand your body. It is already suffering from a big adjustment. All those sugars and big amounts of calories it was used to, which changed all of a sudden.
You know that feeling, that you feel weak the first days – or maybe even weeks – of your new diet? That’s your body detoxifying. If you force it to do sports on top of that, it is too much. You will feel worse, which will result in eating more of the unhealthy stuff.
Or even worse, you will throw your plans to become healthier in the bin.
So what you should do?
Change your meal plan, but take small steps.
Exercise, but take small steps.
