It is almost impossible to blog about (healthy) food and don’t write about New Year’s resolutions, right? At least, that was what I was thinking. My blog has been hacked and offline for a while, so it took me a couple of days, but here I am – with my New Year’s resolution.
“In 2015 I am going to make my dream come true.”
My dream? Yeah, still kind of vague, I know. Let me explain. A while ago, I had an Eureka-moment. I was lying in bed, having a deep conversation with myself.
No, I am not crazy. Conversating with yourself on a deep level will make you connect with your inner self. Asking the questions you have been wondering about for a while can finally reveal the answers. It is great, I really recommend you to try it one time! It will feel weird in the beginning, but if you take yourself serious, you will be happy you had this ‘conversation’.
So, what was it that I wanted?
Back to mine. From the 4th year of my studies people have been asking me what I would like to do with my life. I didn’t know. Yes, I did have a vague impression. I wanted a little of this and that in a nutritional atmosphere, preferably in a couple of months, but maybe longer, probably somewhere on the other side of the ocean. I can tell you one thing, if you only have a vague impression about what you want in the future, for sure you won’t work your ass off to get there.
I kept my future hanging somewhere between the one day’s and maybe’s for a while, mainly because I had something else to prioritize this year – I will tell you all about it in my Reflection of 2014.
So one day I decided I need to have a good conversation with myself, ask myself what it is that I really want. And EUREKA! I got the answer pretty quick. Because deep inside of me I have known all along what I want to do. Really, deep inside of you there is so much more going on than you can imagine!
The Revelation
My dream is to move to Ecuador or Colombia, get a job to be able to provide living for myself and the rest of my time and energy I would love to spend in voluntary work. I love the idea of being able to help people who don’t have the resources to provide their families good nutrition and clothing. I know I won’t be able to change the whole economy there all by myself, but I would be really happy if I can make a small change in some peoples life.
So in 2015 I am going to work hard to be able to make this dream come true, and I hope that I can write about the New Year’s resolution for 2016 from a crappy computer in Ecuador or Colombia ;-).
Other Goals
There are some other things I will change in the next year. I went vegetarian, so no meat for me in 2015. Also I want to get in a better shape, I’ve already lost 8 cm’s of my waist in 2 months and I’m planning in losing a few more!
I already started working on my goals for the next year, what is a better moment to start than when the year hasn’t even begun yet, right? I don’t believe a New Year’s resolution is strictly connected to the 1st of January, then it will be doomed to fail. If you forgot about your new goals for a moment, it will be easier to give up. To me it is the start of a big change in your life, a new lifestyle. My goals are for 2015 and hopefully also for long after that.
What about you?
I am really curious about your New Year’s resolution, please leave a comment to tell me all about it!
