It’s autumn again and chestnuts are falling out of the trees. I really like going outside – to my grandmothers backyard in my case – to gather chestnuts. On a beautiful, sunny day, or maybe even when it’s raining, hard. What I would do with those chestnuts? Well, they taste great in a soup! Here my grandmothers recipe.
Ingredients
500 grams chestnuts
1 onion
1 liter bouillon
Dash of soy sauce
Preparation
Cut a cross in the chestnuts and cook them in boiling water for half an hour. Then peel the coat off.
SautĂ© the onion with olive oil and a dash of – sweet – soy sauce. Mix the chestnuts and bouillon with the onion and cook for 15 more minutes. Put it in the blender or mix with a hand mixer et voilĂ , enjoy your chestnut soup!
