Last weekend was Sophia’s first time in a Theme Park! My fathers office organized a day trip for their employees and their family members, and he invited us to join him. The park of choice was Phantasialand, in Germany. At a 2,5 hour drive with the bus.
Departure was at 7:30, which was a bit tricky, as Sophia refused to go to sleep the night before. Also, she kept waking up and crying.
When we tried waking her up in the morning she looked at us with the same angry faces as when she wakes up – I could see her think “How dare they wake me up at this crazy hour? It’s still dark!”.
But as soon as she saw her grandparents picked us up, her anger changed into excitement. She seemed very confused about this sudden trip, but it looked fun, and that’s what she likes.
The bus ride went also fine, she fell asleep next to grandmother and got to recharge her energy.
Phantasialand itself was just magical. There was so much to see and do, but she is still a bit too small. One and a half probably isn’t the best age yet for a theme park.
Also, we forgot to bring her wet wipes and sippy cup, due to exhaustedness! Oops. Luckily she didn’t have a stinky diaper and we bought her a new bright sippy cup from Phantasialand.
In the park were many places we could go, sit down and let her play a little. There was even a family service point, made for a short rest with the little ones. I think this was almost her favorite part of the theme park 😂
Her favorite was the carousel. It was already dark, so all the lights were on. We sat in a rotating cup, so we could change the scenery for her.
As soon as she saw all the horses lined up and moving behind her, she started repeating ‘woww’ ‘wooow’ and more ‘wow’s’!
I loved Phantasialand, but the moment I could see my daughter enjoying those beautiful horses, lights and surroundings from the carousel definitely was my favorite part of the day 😍
Or was it the log flume ride in winter time and with a little bit of rain? Luis and I got a little bit wet and cold, but nothing a mulled wine can’t fix!
The bus ride back everyone – except for the driver and Sophia – wanted to sleep. Until we almost arrived, haha. As always. And the day after she woke up like every other normal day. Probably thinking she had the wildest dream.
Good thing we still have the pictures!
