Even though I posted my ‘before’ picture yesterday, today is already day 4 of the challenge. I’m getting used to my new meal plan and I actually really like it!
How I know when I’ve reached my 1600 calorie goal? Well, I use the MyFitnessPal application. When I start the day and sip on my cappuccino shake – which is my never to change breakfast every day – I start adding meals and inbetweens I would like to eat that day in the app. It is quite fun actually, I get to choose whatever I want to eat, as long as I reach my calorie and protein goal. Sometimes it’s also even a struggle, when I notice I’ve got all the meal moments covered, but still don’t reach the 1600 kcal.
Right now, I think my meal plan is perfect. I feel satisfied, energetic and yet healthy. I have the energy I need for my workouts. Last night I had a really small chocolate/cookie craving, which I really didn’t want to give in to. Until I slept lol – I dreamed about being cheeky and eating cookies and chocolate! Oh dear. Good thing is that the craving was over the next day, because I already got the pleasure of cheating during my sleep ;-).
Also I get to choose when I eat my prepared meals, whenever I am hungry I can pick something from the fridge or out of my bag and after my last snack I feel as if I ate the right amount of foods that day – satisfaction.
So, what do I eat for example? I’ll show you my menu of this day! Oh, the picture at the top of this post were my groceries today btw. I just looove my cheese.
Breakfast
Herbalife cappuccino shake
Snack
Herbalife protein bar, chocolate peanut, my favorite!
Lunch
50 gr of brown rice, 140 gr of mushrooms, 125 gr of courgette, chopped onion and seitan
Snack
Two boiled eggs
Dinner
Herbalife shake caramel/apple/cinnamon
Salad of arugula, tomatoes, courgette, mushrooms, cashews and goat cheese
Snack
250 gr of 0% fat yoghurt
Banana
This was my lunch, I stirfried onions with mushrooms and courgettes. Then I added the seitan, which has to be baked for 2 minutes on each side. The sauce came with the seitan.
I had to eat my dinner at work. We do get a 30 minute break on evening shifts, but I usually spend that behind the computer. I know it’s not healthy and everything, but otherwise I have to sit in the canteen all alone, which is pretty boring! And in this way I can spend my break working on my website. Taking the shake before or during my dinner makes sure that I’m stuffffed afterwards, so no need for me to indulge in the evening. I might even say impossible – that stuffed, yes.
